Joe Campione

Joe Campione joined the Center for Collaborative Journalism in 2024 as the station manager at WMUB, bringing in over a decade of broadcasting experience. Campione came to Mercer in 2023, acting as the Director of Video Services for Mercer athletics. Prior to his time at Mercer, Campione spent seven years in Morehead, Kentucky, serving as Morehead State University’s Athletic Video Coordinator. There, he helped modernize their broadcasting capabilities by creating the first fully functioning athletic broadcasting studio to the university, and helped lead their transition into ESPN productions in 2018.

Before entering into the university space, Campione worked as the Director of Broadcast in Binghamton, New York for their minor league baseball team, putting together broadcasts, features and graphics for the team. A native of Edison, New Jersey, Campione received his Bachelor’s degree from George Mason University, where he studied English and History.

In addition to his experience in broadcasting, Campione has spent time freelancing for The Home News Tribune (NJ) and has worked for various religious-based television networks to bring their content to streaming applications as well as international television stations.
