Read below to find out how our inaugural adviser camp went!

GSPA High School Media Adviser Summer Camp at Mercer University in Macon, June 3-5 2019
Seasoned media advisers and newbies alike convened with their peer to acquire/refresh practical, teachable skills at this intensive two-days, two-nights retreat in Macon. The advisers from all over Georgia set their own agenda for conversation topics with their peers using the "unconference" model. Faculty and staff at Mercer University's Center for Collaborative Journalism offered hands-on sessions on various media production skills: photo/video, data reporting, social media and more.

Mercer hosted and provided instruction for free and paid for attendees breakfast and lunch. While the majority of advisors paid for travel and lodging themselves,  Mercer covered hotel expenses for a finite number of attendees who needed help.

The Adviser Camp took place in Mercer's CCJ building, 1675 Montpelier Ave, Macon.
